Accommodation:
A floating raft house, suitable for the true nature lover. The electricity is available during 18.30- 22.30 hours only.
What to Bring:
Insect repellent, long sleeves, long pants, hat, sturdy shoes or sport shoes, sandals, swimming suit, and a flash light is advisable.
Itinerary
Day 1:
9:00- 9:20am
Transfer by local minivan or bus arrives to take you to Ratchaprapha Dam. On the way your tour guide will stop in Ta Khun market where you can take some cash from an ATM, buy some snacks, and other necessary things you will require for 1 night on the lake Then back into the van and onto the pier, where your guide and your boat captain are eagerly waiting your arrival,
10:30am
Take a long-tailed boat to explore some of the most alluring parts of the lake. The boat stops at Gui Lin of Thailand, a comparison of China’s famous limestone karsts. Take some pictures and enjoy the view here! Then, the boat will take you to the raft houses where you will spend the night. After you check-in you can enjoy your first swim into the crystal-clear waters of the lake.
After a delicious Thai lunch, go back for another swim, have a nap, use one of the free kayaks to explore the surroundings, or just chill out and enjoy the magnificent scenery.
Next, you will be guided on a trek to Nam Ta- Lu Cave (water cave).
*** The water cave is not recommended for, achluophobia, claustrophobia, or pregnant women. People in this category can still stay and relax in front of the cave.
Finally, you head back to the raft houses for a local Thai dinner.
Day 2:
After an early wake up and a quick coffee, departure at about 6:30 for a 1-hour, early morning safari by boat along the shores. This is a great time to observe any wildlife such as long tail macaques, pig tail macaques, dusky leaf- monkey, gibbons, monitor lizards, horn bills, and even eagles are commonly seen.
Back at the raft house your breakfast is waiting for you. You can also fit in one last swim or kayak ride before you check out and put your luggage in the boat.
Next, your boat captain will take you on another boat ride and hike. The destination will depend on several factors specifically the height of the water on the lake. Wherever you end up, lunch will be served. Take your time until departure. Finally, the long-tailed boat will take you back to the pier where your transport back to Las Orquideas Resort will be waiting for you.
