Khao Sok National Park

Khao Sok village and National Park is a hidden gem which draws travelers from all around the world due to its stunning range of landscape,  flora and fauna.  It’s quaint beauty is the perfect place for cozying up with nature.

Explore Nature

The park is considered one of the most beautiful and picturesque wildlife reserves in the Land of Smiles with amazing landscapes. The admission fee is around 300 baht for foreigners and 40 baht for Thai Nationals.

This national park holds many mysteries and old myths because it is one of the oldest rainforests in Southeast Asia. Khao Sok was a place of refuge, and a hiding place many different times in history. This includes Communist Thai students who hid from the Thai army. These students helped keep loggers, hunters, and miners out of Khao Sok. In fact, if it wasn’t for these students, Khao Sok could have gone up in flames and we wouldn’t have the opportunity to explore its beauty like we do today. Eventually on December 22nd, 1980 the park was officially established.

Best Time to Visit

Like many other rainforests around the world, temperatures in Khao Sok don’t fluctuate substantially month to month. Changes in weather change more so between noon and late at night. We always say, “If you don’t like the weather in Khao Sok, wait an hour”.

Due to the lush jungle habitat, Khao Sok has a humid environment year-round, which is most noticeable during the months of June through November when downpours are at their most frequent. In fact, Khao Sok is gifted with more rain than any other region in Thailand. So, drink water often and enjoy the coolness of the rain! The average temperature stays between 22-32 celsius. Khao Sok maintains a hot and humid climate throughout the year. Oftentimes the humidity is more intense than what most tourists are used to.

Generally the rainy season is from May to November and the dry season is from December to April. Although, this is never promised. Just assume you'll experience rain on your trip and if you don't you'll be surprised!
